Crazy Bees

The kids and I were outside playing this afternoon, when a swarm of bees attacked our yard! We rushed inside with Myrtle too and were thankful that we made it without a hospital visit! It was seriously a close call. Check out the tree that they are "nesting" in! We'll be taking care of this situation ASAP as we are on house arrest right now!

Proud Mama

So as most of you know, I have held off for many years on getting my children involved in sports. We stay super busy between work, church, and a fairly busy weekend life already. I really enjoy the simple life and my kiddos love to be home and play, so the pressure to start the life of running 3 kids around to practices after a full day of work hasn't hit me until the other day. Our P.E. teacher at school hosts a Fun Run every year and has the kids run almost a mile. Of course, enjoying running myself, I was excited to see how my kids would do. Lexi placed 6th out of around 60 girls and Will placed 3rd out of about 35 boys. It was so exciting to see them race! A few moments during the race, I was surprised to find myself screaming for my kids like a lunatic! Lexi had a lot of competetion and really had to push herself. Will was running against 4 year olds, and just glided through without hesitation. I think we might be ready for sports..did I just say that?

Easter

We had a busy, but wonderful Easter break! We went to Abilene and visited Nana and Papa, played with Tatum and Tripp, and saw Summer, Teryn and Tooter. We also got to hunt eggs at the Pairs and got WAY too much candy. Easter Sunday was amazing at Beltway Park, and I was reminded again of the wonderful sacrafice that our Father made for us! After lunch we left Abilene and headed to the ranch for yet another egg hunt with the Bass family.

And Time Marches On...

Lexi has looked particularly old to me lately. Her looks have changed alot this year, getting her front teeth in, an older haircut, and her own sense of style. It's so fun to watch her grow and mature into a little lady, but so sad, as I recall years gone by. My how I take advantage of things. I'm so proud of her independence, a trait she was born with. I admire her strength as she labors alongside of "the guys", helping with cattle, patching fence, or whatever task is at hand. These things will come in handy one day. I also have the luxery of seeing her at school everyday as she visits with friends at lunch, skips down the hallway to her classroom, and plays horses at recess (yes, she still plays horses!). She is such a well-rounded girl to all and I'm so proud of her!

An Egg Hunt

What a fun day! Nat's mama, Queenie, began an Annual Easter Egg Hunt a couple of years ago. They have a great place on the lake to hold one with as many people as they invite. Today the weather was beautiful and it was an especially relaxing afternoon since Nana and Papa drove in. The kiddos went about their business enjoying each other's company, while the rest of us visited and tended to the smaller ones. You will see through my blog some recurring pictures of the same families. We've surely been blessed with enduring friendships from the Pittmans, Greenfields, and Wills! Our children love and enjoy each other beyond measure, as we do one another.
